Frequently Asked Questions
General & Performance
AUBO cobots are widely used across automotive, electronics, metal fabrication, food packaging, warehousing, research, and general manufacturing for tasks ranging from assembly to welding.
Aubo's i Series have payloads of 3-20 KG (6.6-44lbs) and the iS Series goes up to 35 KG (77lbs). The upcoming flagship G Series has payloads up to 40 KG.
Thanks to their simple setup and out-of-the-box compatibility, AUBO cobots can be up and running in just a few hours. Actual deployment time depends on the project. For a full automation cell, the timeline varies with the complexity of the fixturing, end-of-arm tooling (EOAT), PLC integration, and programming.
Even so, cobots make integration much simpler than traditional industrial robots, and this ease of integration and programming helps you reach ROI sooner. A typical cobot project pays for itself in 12–18 months.
For the fastest results, AUBO's in-house SwitchWeld and Palletizer solutions come ready to run. Most customers are in production after just 1–2 days of installation and training, with an ROI of around 6 months.
Yes, they offer seamless integration with a wide variety of third-party grippers, vision systems, force-torque sensors, and safety modules through standard communication protocols. Including Ethernet IP, Profinet, Modbus TCP/RTU, TCP IP, etc... Please see some of the compatible brands here.
Aubo's ARCS system offers an intuitive graphical user interface that covers over 70% of general applications. You can find some tutorial videos here. We also offer SDKs in Python, C++, C and scripting in LUA. The ARCS system is compatible with both ROS1&2.
Safety & Integration
This would ultimately depend on the safety assessment conducted by your company or integrator. As we always emphasize, AUBO's cobots have built-in collision detection with 10 different sensitivity levels. However, when the robot is handling something sharp, heavy, or otherwise hazardous, collision detection alone may not be sufficient to ensure safety.
That's why we often still see additional safety measures used in conjunction with the cobot, such as light curtains or area scanners. That said, AUBO's built-in safety features can reduce the level of additional safeguarding required, which can help reduce the overall footprint and cost of the automation cell.
They are equipped with sensitive collision-detection technology that instantly stops movement upon detecting unexpected contact, ensuring maximum safety for human operators.
Yes, they support standard industrial communication protocols like Ethernet IP, Profinet, Modbus, TCP/IP, and IO interfaces, ensuring smooth integration with existing factory automation networks like Siemens, Allen Bradley, Keyence, etc...
AUBO cobots comply with major international safety and quality standards, including ISO 10218-1, ISO/TS 15066 for collaborative industrial robots and ISO 13849-1 PL d Cat 3.
Operators can work closely side-by-side with cobots because the system continuously monitors force and speed parameters to prevent any potential injury.
SwitchWeld & Applications
Unlike traditional robots that require complex coding, SwitchWeld allows your existing team of welders to program and execute welding tasks quickly using simple hand-guidance and our patented 6DOF joystick.
SwitchWeld supports MIG welding and plasma cutting. It has flexible reach configurations as well as integrations with Miller Auto DeltaWeld tailored for high-quality metal fabrication.
The AUBO Palletizer features customizable stacking patterns and easy adjustments to handle varying box dimensions and payloads efficiently without complicated reprogramming.
Yes, when integrated with advanced 3D vision systems and grippers, AUBO cobots excel at random bin picking, CNC machine tending, and automated sorting tasks.
