About us:

Aubo Robotics is a global leader in the development of collaborative robots (cobots) that are transforming automation across industries. Our team is dedicated to creating intelligent, flexible, and user-friendly robotic solutions. We are now expanding our efforts to bring the power of automation to a wider range of customers and applications.

Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly motivated and responsible Robotics Applications Engineer. In this role, you will be the technical bridge between our advanced robotic platforms and our customers’ real-world challenges. Your primary focus will be on designing, implementing, and deploying robotic solutions that solve specific customer problems in diverse environments, from manufacturing to new, emerging sectors. We are looking for individuals who are not only skilled but also deeply committed to quality and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Solution Design & Development: Design and implement practical, reliable robotic workcells for customer applications using C++ and Python for customization and integration.
  • System Integration & Programming: Develop and configure application software within the ROS (Robot Operating System) framework, integrating peripherals like vision systems, grippers, and PLCs.
  • On-Site Deployment & Support: Lead the on-site installation, commissioning, and debugging of robotic solutions at customer facilities. Provide technical training and support to customers.
  • Customization & Prototyping: Create custom scripts and interfaces to adapt our robots to unique customer processes, which may involve working with embedded controllers like STM32.
  • Technical Discovery: Work with the sales and business development teams to understand customer requirements, assess application feasibility, and propose technical solutions.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Robotics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
  • Strong practical programming skills for automation and integration, particularly in Python and/or C++.
  • Hands-on experience with ROS (ROS1 and/or ROS2) for building and configuring robotic applications.
  • Experience with hardware integration and prototyping, including familiarity with microcontrollers (e.g., STM32) and I/O communication.
  • A strong sense of ownership and responsibility, with a proactive attitude toward problem-solving and learning.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Fluency in English, with professional proficiency in Mandarin Chinese (reading, listening, and speaking) to effectively collaborate with our global teams and support a wide range of customers.

What Will Make You Stand Out:
  • A GitHub repository showcasing projects where you’ve built, integrated, or programmed robots or automated systems for specific tasks. We encourage you to share your GitHub profile!
  • Participation in prestigious robotics competitions such as FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC), DARPA Challenges, or SAE AutoDrive, which demonstrate hands-on system integration and rapid prototyping under constraints.
  • Previous experience in a customer-facing technical role (e.g., Field Applications Engineer, Systems Integrator).
  • A demonstrated drive for self-improvement and a passion for mastering new technologies and methodologies.
Application Process:

If you are a proactive and responsible engineer excited about bringing robots to life in customer environments, we would love to hear from you. Please submit your resume and a cover letter to job@aubo-usa.com, explaining your interest in applications engineering and how your mindset aligns with our values. Applicants are highly encouraged to include a link to their GitHub profile or project portfolio.
